Chen Qing Ji Yang Lou Mansion
As I travel in Taiwan, I always come across what I call the bizarre and unexpected. Bizarre being defined as, “very strange or unusual, especially as to cause interest or amusement.” The Chen Qing Ji Yang Lou mansion on Kinmen Island, Taiwan falls into this definition.

This mansion obviously belonged to a wealthy family many years ago, but now it has fallen on hard times. It is this rundown condition that makes it so unique and “bizarre.” It even has a tree growing out of the second story!
Should it be restored? Restoring it would certainly change how it looks, but it would lose its uniqueness that photographers seek and tourists admire. No, keep it the way it is.
